HOW CAN I VISIT THE D.SCHOOL?

Please view our tour message here.

CAN I TAKE A CLASS AT THE D.SCHOOL?

Currently, the d.school offers classes to enrolled Stanford undergraduate and graduate students. If you’re interested in taking d.school classes, you can apply to any degree program at Stanford and augment your experience with d.school courses. Specifically, the Stanford Design Program offers a graduate degree in design thinking; these students frequently participate in d.school courses. We also run workshops for executives throughout the year.

I’M A STANFORD STUDENT – HOW DO I APPLY TO THE D.SCHOOL?

The d.school now awards B.S. and M.S. Design degrees! At this time, we do not offer doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees but enrolled Stanford students are always welcome to apply to any of our elective d.school classes.

DOES THE D.SCHOOL OFFER STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMS?

Exchange programs would need to be set up through one of Stanford’s seven schools – Business, Medicine, Education, Law, Engineering, Humanities & Sciences, or Earth Sciences.

IF I’M NOT A STANFORD STUDENT, CAN I STILL GET INVOLVED?

Absolutely, and we hope you do! We have a myriad of programs for professionals and students beyond Stanford, like executive education and project fellowships. Please head to our Programs page to explore all our offerings.

WHERE CAN I FIND AN INTRO TO DESIGN THINKING?

Great question. Check out our virtual crash course that will take you step by step through the process in a 90 minute design challenge. There are also online courses available through IDEO U and +ACUMEN.

DOES THE D.SCHOOL OFFER EXECUTIVE EDUCATION?

Yes, our Executive Education workshops are open enrollment and take place here at Stanford several times a year. In these workshops, your team will participate with executives from other companies as well.

WHAT ABOUT WORKSHOPS FOR SMALLER GROUPS OF EXECUTIVES?

You might be interested in Executive Education's Design Thinking Bootcamp or Customer-Focused Innovation Workshop. The session aims to equip executives with the design skills to tackle business challenges in a new way. Contact exec_ed@dschool.stanford.edu to apply, and we’ll be in touch to let you know if your request aligns with our team’s particular skills and areas of interest.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE THERE FOR K-12 EDUCATORS?

Explore offerings and methods from our K12 Lab Network. The K12 Lab also has a newsletter you can sign up for here and events for educators, entrepreneurs, and innovators of all stripes. IF I’M AFFILIATED WITH STANFORD, CAN I RESERVE SPACE TO USE AT THE D.SCHOOL?

Our spaces are typically reserved for use by d.school (+ affiliated groups) and Stanford Design groups who are facilitating active and collaborative learning experiences centered on design thinking. While we receive many requests for meetings and team retreats, unfortunately, we can't accommodate them all. As an alternative, you can see available spaces at the School of Engineering Quad SEQ for non-design thinking-related events.

CAN I RESERVE SPACE IF I’M NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE D.SCHOOL?

Our spaces are typically reserved for Stanford Design groups, and we don’t have spaces available for rent.

I’M AN EMPLOYER - CAN I POST A JOB OFFERING TO D.SCHOOL STUDENTS OR ALUMNI?

You can email info@dschool.stanford.edu with the job title, company, location, and job description in the body of the email (no attachments, please!). If it’s relevant to our students and alumni, we’ll be happy to include it in our jobs email list.
