Overview

How can we advance positive change on complex challenges? Human-centered design offers useful and powerful tools, and it is not enough. A design practice needs to integrate various methods to be most effective. In particular, for the social sector, we believe integrating human-centered, systems-minded, strategy-aligned, and equity-driven approaches can create greater impact.

Integrative Design: A Practice to Tackle Complex Challenges introduces four methodologies -- human-centered design, equity and anti-racism, systems thinking, and programmatic strategy -- and how their integration benefits a design practice.
